As part of our regular “We Are!” feature, we recognize 14 Penn Staters who have gone above and beyond what’s asked of them in their work at the University.

This week, on behalf of the entire Penn State community, we’d like to say thank you to:

  • Beth Colledge, director of corporate engagement at the Corporate Engagement Center, whose nominator wrote: “Beth’s positive attitude and willingness to help others, no matter how busy she is, truly make her an invaluable asset to our team and to Penn State. Her vast institutional knowledge, combined with her good humor and calm demeanor in the face of challenges, makes working with her a true pleasure.”
  • Rebecca Cross, academic program coordinator for the School of Global Languages, Literatures, and Cultures in the College of the Liberal Arts, whose nominator wrote: “Becky has been instrumental in helping me find success at the University.  She has stepped up and helped our students with class schedules, helped get courses scheduled for faculty, and taught me much about LionPath and other systems.  Her kindness, assistance and flexibility deserve recognition!”
  • Izac Diaz, IT systems manager at Penn State Lehigh Valley, whose nominator wrote: “Izac is a rockstar on our campus! He consistently arrives with a smile to resolve any tech issue and even proactively checks in to see how we're doing and if we have any IT questions. His positive attitude, expertise and dedication make him an invaluable asset to our campus!”
  • Jill Dickun, interim director of Student Affairs and student success coordinator at Penn State New Kensington, whose nominator wrote: “Jill has stepped into a daunting position as an interim director of Student Affairs with many systems and moving parts. She has done a phenomenal job! She has shown empathy and excitement in working with our student body. Our students are fortunate to have an exemplary employee at PSNK!”

Lorraine set a clear direction for the team, ensuring alignment with the goals while fostering a collaborative atmosphere.”
  • Denise Gladd, assistant to the head of the Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders (CSD) in the College of Health and Human Development, whose nominator wrote: “Denise juggles many roles in finances, grants, events, facilities, HR and more. No matter what she is asked to do, she makes it happen. She helps others feel part of the team and encourages them to do their best. She personifies the 'We Are!’ spirit and makes CSD a place where faculty and students want to be.”
